It’s no secret that I’m a vibration whore – I love strong vibrations. I’m also head-over-heels for glass. When I saw the Don Wands Vibrating Glass Cobalt Nubby at PinkCherry.com, there was an instant attraction. Glass that vibrates? Sign me up!

Vibrating Cobalt NubbyThe Vibrating Nubby arrived with a plush pink storage bag and batteries. When held up to a light, it becomes translucent and the outline of the incased vibrator is visible. The raised nubs that adorn the shaft are ¼” in diameter and ⅛” high. It can be sterilized, but since this is a vibrator please do not fully submerge it in water! If you want to sterilize it, go ahead and wipe the glass down with a 10% bleach solution and then rinse with water. (No boiling or washing this one in the dishwasher!)

Vibrating Cobalt Nubby Once I had finished admiring its beauty, it was time to fire this thing up. No instructions for battery insertion were included, so I was left to my own devices. After figuring it out (2 AA, positive side towards the head) I hastily began pressing with the power button. There are 8 vibration settings – impressive. The first three are variations of solid vibration, each getting deeper than the previous. The next five are different pulsation patterns. There is only one button, so to turn the vibrator off you must cycle through each setting. The vibrations travel really well through the glass and are fairly quiet (I doubt this could be heard through a closed door).

Vibrating Cobalt NubbyThe Vibrating Nubby was rather intimidating at first. With a circumference of 5” at its thickest point, it’s not for the faint of heart. Although glass is extremely smooth, and I generally don’t need to use lube with it, the Vibrating Nubby is an exception. Its thick shaft required some extra warm up and assistance in the lubrication department. PinkCherry.com was nice enough to send along an assortment of samples of Wet Lubricant, so I was all set to start. This vibrator is extremely filling in the best way possible. The nubs on the shaft are very noticeable and the glass heats up quickly (my favorite thing about glass). Thrusting is a little uncomfortable, but the nubs feel great if I twist the vibrator around.

My favorite way to use the Vibrating Nubby has been to pair it with clit stimulation. I generally always use my Xtreme Pack with my other glass dildos, but this was a completely different set of sensations. I set the Vibrating Nubby on the fifth setting (a series of pulses which increase in speed) and set my Xtreme Pack on a steady vibration. Usually, the Xtreme wins in head-to-head vibration wars, but this was different. I could feel the distinct pattern of the Vibrating Nubby pulsing inside of me while the Xtreme Pack buzzed away. The Vibrating Nubby held its own against the Xtreme Pack, and has earned its way into my favorite toys drawer.
